Planning Directorate

The Planning Directorate is a central body of the University established to ensure its overall and sustainable development through systematic planning and evaluation. It is responsible for formulating comprehensive plans and programs aligned with the University’s objectives, as well as reviewing the implementation of approved plans to ensure effectiveness and efficiency. The Directorate is led by a Director appointed by the Vice-Chancellor upon the decision of the Executive Council. The Director serves as the chief executive of the Directorate for a term of four years and operates in accordance with the qualifications, responsibilities, and service conditions prescribed by the Executive Council.

Functions, Duties, and Powers

The Planning Directorate is entrusted with the following functions, duties, and powers:

  • To formulate comprehensive plans for achieving the objectives and development of the University.
  • To assist in presenting all formulated plans to the University Assembly.
  • To design and implement both long-term and short-term plans for achieving the University’s objectives.
  • To monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented plans.
  • To identify problems and challenges during implementation and develop strategies for future planning.
  • To mobilize financial, physical, and other resources by coordinating with the Government of Nepal, as well as national and international governmental and non-governmental organizations and stakeholders.
  • To prepare necessary plans and obtain approval from the Executive Council for acquiring assets from other institutions and agencies.
  • To maintain updated and accurate records of physical and financial resources and assets.
  • To determine priorities for the utilization and expenditure of resources and recommend decisions to the Executive Council.
  • To perform other functions as assigned by the Executive Council.
