Dr. Rupak K.C. is currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Veterinary Medicine at the Faculty of Animal Science, Veterinary Science, and Fisheries of the Agriculture and Forestry University (AFU) in Nepal. He earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree in 2007 from the Faculty of Veterinary Science, Bangladesh Agricultural University in Mymensingh, Bangladesh. Subsequently, he held a position as a veterinary surgeon at the Animal Medical Center in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where he specialized in the treatment of small and exotic animals. Dr. K.C. completed his master’s and doctoral studies in veterinary medicine in 2017 at the Department of Veterinary Medicine, College of Veterinary Medicine, National Pingtung University of Science and Technology (NPUST) in Taiwan under the NPUST scholarship program. His doctoral thesis focused on pioneering studies investigating the biology and disease ecology of the free-ranging Chinese pangolin (Manis pentadactyla pentadactyla). His research interests encompass companion and exotic animal medicine, wildlife disease ecology, and molecular diagnostics. At AFU, Dr. K.C. teaches undergraduate courses in Preventive Veterinary Medicine, Wildlife, Pet and Laboratory Animal Medicine, and postgraduate courses in Infectious Diseases of Farm Animals and Wildlife Medicine. He is a registered specialist in veterinary medicine with the Nepal Veterinary Council. Presently, he serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the Veterinary Practitioners’ Association of Nepal.
