Jeetendra Gautam is currently positioned as Assistant Dean (Administration) and as an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Forestry, Agriculture and Forestry University, Nepal, since 2017 and is currently Assistant Dean (administration) and the Head of the Department for Forest Survey and Engineering at the Faculty of Forestry, Hetauda, Nepal. His academic journey began with a B.Sc. in Forestry from the Institute of Forestry, Tribhuvan University, in 2011, followed by the M.Sc. in Forestry from the same institution in 2015. These qualifications provided a solid foundation in forestry disciplines, allowing him to explore various research areas and teaching responsibilities. Mr. Gautam’s expertise includes Forest Mensuration and Biometrics, Fire Ecology, Forest Management, Remote Sensing, GIS, Forest Statistics, and Experimental Design. His research addresses critical issues such as forest resource management, forest carbon estimation, biodiversity assessments, and wildlife behavior, tackling challenges like climate change and sustainable forest management practices. He has contributed to academic journals and is dedicated to teaching and mentoring students. In his role as department head, he leads efforts to advance research and education in sustainable forestry. Mr. Gautam’s work is committed to conserving and managing Nepal’s forest resources effectively while preparing the next generation of forestry professionals.
